Appearance.

AppearanceOn a personal level I feel that our standards of appearance in public are the most obvious sign of a lowering of standards over the years but by the same token the area that we could make the quickest and most positive change for the better.

Personal hygiene; let’s be honest nothing creates a first impression quite like someone’s standards of personal hygiene. There really are NO excuses.

Generally remember the big 3 for clothing: cleaned and pressed or polished, they speak for themselves; dress in a way that makes you feel proud.

Let’s clear up one point, it is not ok to display your underwear in public. Underwear is so named for a reason; it goes under your outer clothing and should not under any circumstances be on display.

ShoesTrainers and tracksuits as their names suggest are designed for sports and training, not for wearing all day everyday.

Jeans and T shirts: If you are somebody that wears pretty much nothing else then try a collared shirt, with trousers and shoes and see what sort of reaction you get from your friends and work colleagues.

Shoes: Should be clean at all times. It is often said that you can tell a lot about someone from the state of their shoes. So be warned!

TiesTrousers: should be secured with a belt around the waist and should be clean and pressed if necessary.

Contrary to popular belief ties are not just for office jobs, weddings and funerals.  There was a time when no gentleman was seen
outdoors without a tie. Try wearing one out of choice and not necessity you never know you
may like it.
